Ok, so as an early post I should mention: many thoughts of mine come from the idea that phenomena in the world were created intentionally, like how an artist is intentional - therefore it is interesting to note why things in 'nature' are set up the way they are, as opposed to some other way. That said, I was thinking about Lungs:
So, we know from Genesis that God gave life to Adam by breathing into his lungs; and we know from the Emergent Church that the hebrew word for 'spirit' is the same as the word for 'breath'; etc.
So: Air = God.
These things considered, how cool is it that the lungs anatomically surround the heart? Inviting God to be all around us (on the inside) with every inhale; very close, yet not intruding.
